This week in the Old Testament we finish up Job and jump back into Genesis with the Tower of Babel, both of which are estimated to have taken place roughly 400 years after the flood. We then follow with the account of Abraham beginning in 2091 BC.
The New Testament continues with the disciples being sent out two by two on a mission from Jesus. Miracles abound this week including the feeding of the 5,000. That is followed by Jesus’ discourse alluding to his death and resurrection which causes a number of followers to abandon him at the end of John 6.
What’s not in the Bible this week?… how Jesus felt after the death of John the Baptist, a close relative and the man who baptized him.
